This page is about a fan-made topic, which is not part of Incredibox's canonical main history and/or universe, and is therefore not affiliated with So Far So Good (unless if that mod was approved by them to be playable in the app, in which case it is still not canon.) |
Incredibox Mods, sometimes referred to as “Incredimods” or simply “mods”, are modifications of Incredibox. Modifications have been proved to be popular among Incredibox's fan community, arguably just as popular (or even more popular than) as the original game itself.
If you’re specifically looking for mods that are in the official Incredimods list in the app, look in this category. For Incredibox's mod.io page, look here.
Just as the purpose of a modded game should be, almost all mods of Incredibox are community created editions of Incredibox, adding custom made versions to the game. Earlier mods followed more simple formats, such as altered, even reassembled appearances to sounds, however mods later evolved by 2021 to 2022, with more mods following self-created programming and soundtracks, ultimately allowing fan-created playable versions to be made and released online.
History[]
Sunrise as it appears in Reskincredibox. Note the simplicity of the mod.
The creation of general modifications of Incredibox are credited to content creators BBoxer and Artemiy Kopych. BBoxer notably having done customized sprite sheets of sounds prior, modifications of Incredibox received attention online as far as December 2018, when the mod The Original on Mobiles (being a reconstruction of The Original, intended for availability on Android devices) was first revealed to the public. However, Reskincredibox (being a color altered version of all, at the time, six versions of Incredibox) was released first by the same people on May 15, 2019.
The long awaited Original on Mobiles wouldn't be released until August 16, 2019, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of The Original's release in 2009. Other smaller creators in the community had also learned how to create their own modifications to Incredibox, however nearly all of them were unable to code in Javascript due to lack of knowledge, and were only able to illustrate their own sprite sheets.
Modifications later grew in 2021 to 2022, as more people who were able to code in Javascript, illustrate sprite sheets, and produce soundtracks and animated bonuses, full on customized versions were created by the fan base, at the time, Rem and RB-Series were notable in this field, and were nearly the only types of creators, until smaller creators also gained skills in modding.
In March 2025, So Far So Good announced that select mods would be able to be played in the paid app.
In early November 2025, So Far So Good announced any .apk/.exe mods are considered pirated and all mods are required to be played on the official app and uploaded in mod.io.
Scratch Mods[]
Scratch is a website developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) designed to help young people learn coding. Using Scratch, it is very simple to code a game. Scratch modifications saw a rise in mid-2023, when many users on Scratch were inspired to make their own fan-made Incredibox versions as Scratch projects. Although these are titled "mods", they are separate projects on Scratch, rather than being built off of the actual Incredibox application.
